Manzanillo Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Country / Region: USA / California
Intensity: Medium - Robust
Description: A very popular Spanish varietal commonly found in and around Seville, Andalucia, is a medium sized olive that produces an exceptional oil. Literally it translates to "little apple" due to this olive's apple-like shape, it has a high flesh to pit ratio and its pit can easily be removed. For this reason it is often desired to be used as a stuffed olive. Our current harvest of this Spanish Manzanillo is harvested in California and is well balanced with some desirable bitterness and lingering pungency. A rare, and extremely limited Californian harvest!
Tasting Profile / Serving Suggestions: This current harvest of the Manzanillo is well balanced with some desirable bitterness and lingering pungency. It displays prominent notes of green almond, middle notes of creamy artichoke, and savoury vegetal notes on the back end of the palate. A great olive oil that works well with savoury dishes that are well-seasoned, with roasted meats and vegetables, and with grilled meats.
