Description: This handcrafted Roasted Walnut Oil is made in Saumur, France strictly adhering to 150 year-old traditions and methods. Local walnuts are slowly roasted to perfection, then expeller-pressed and lightly filtered.
Tasting Profile / Serving Suggestions: Our Roasted Walnut Oil adds a rich walnut taste to salad dressings, pasta, grilled meats, fish, fresh baked pastries, and makes a great bread and cheese dip. Add a unique twist with this oil and your favourite Pesto recipe. Shakeup with equal amounts of our Blackberry-Ginger Balsamic Vinegar for an unforgettable vinaigrette! Note that walnut oil is best used uncooked. For best flavour, use on cold dishes, or to brush meats, and fish prior to serving.
Health Notes**: Walnuts and their oils are excellent sources of omega-3 fatty acids. A 35 gram serving of walnut oil provides the same nutritional benefits as 50 grams of walnuts. Walnuts are rich in phytonutrients and are an excellent source of selenium, phosphorous, magnesium, zinc, iron, and calcium.
Walnuts and/or walnut oil provide substantial levels of Vitamins B-1, B-2, and B-3, coupled with Vitamin-E and niacin. Walnuts and walnut oil are also rich in antioxidants and are one of the best antioxidant sources among the tree nuts. They are also a significant source of vitamin C.
Packaging: Elegantly presented in a clear glass bottle. We recommend you store your walnut oil in a cool, dark, and dry place to preserve its freshness. For optimal freshness, once opened, we recommend refrigeration, and using within 4 months.
