Origin: Spain
Description: A product of ANTONIO SOTOS, S.L., established and located in the La Mancha region of Spain since 1912, this company is now in the fourth generation of a family business with over 100 years experience working with saffron and quality paprika.
This famous spice is made from peppers originating in the Americas - from the nora cherry pepper, in the family of Capsicum annuum varietals, which have been cultivated there for centuries. These peppers were introduced into Spain in the 16th century and since then paprika has become a staple in many dishes, from the famous paella and other rice dishes, to meats, stews, and vegetable dishes. It is also an essential ingredient in the preparation of sausages and especially in Spanish chorizo. Paprika is now used to season and add colour and flavour to many types of dishes in diverse cuisines. Paprika - always ground into a fine powder, is typically available in 3 versions: sweet, hot, and sweet smoked.
