Barnea Extra Virgin Olive Oil
Harvest: 2023
Country / Region: Peru
Intensity: Robust
Description: The Barnea olive is traditionally seen in Israel where it is a native varietal but is now commonly grown in other regions including the southern hemisphere olive producing countries. It is a sought after varietal for its high yield and the tree's disease resistant qualities. It typically produces a very pronounced, leafy, green flavour profile. This Peruvian harvest Barnea is true to the varietal's roots and represents one of the finest examples of the Barnea variety we’ve experienced.
Tasting Profile / Serving Suggestions: This season’s Peruvian harvest represents one of the finest examples of the Barnea variety we’ve experienced. This intense early harvest olive oil is exceedingly fruity on the nose combining notes of tropical fruit, green apple peel and banana with a lovely, lingering pepper finish. While we consider it to be robust, it only has a slight bitterness.
